This balloon was of the post-war Italian design ”Avorio-Brassone” and proved itself very effective. It could be used in wind forces up to 25 m/s and could rise to 2175 m, higher than any earlier design.

In everyday speech it was called ”Alto- Basso”. Why? Because the boxes the balloon was delivered in 1922 they were marked ”Alto (up) and ”Basso” (down). This Italian words sounded very exotic in Swedish ears!

Capacity 1100 m3,  It was operated by the Balloon Company at Frösunda north of Stockholm.
