Royal Swedish Navy Floatplane Trainer Heinkel HE3 Paddan

The two surplus LVG C.VI trainers bought in 1921 by the Navy did not suit their purpose very well. In 1923 the Navy purchased two Heinkel HE 3 (HE = Heinkel Eindecker) as replacements.  In the same year, the two aircraft were assembled by Svenska Aero AB, a Swedish company but controlled by Heinkel.

The two airframes, fitted with floats and skis alternatively, were used at the flying school at Hägernäs for some years. They were never taken over by the Air Force. They were designated the Navy numbers 11 and 12.

Engine: Siemens Sh 6 (140 hp).
