Lufthansa acquired their first Junker Ju 52/3m in May, 1932. The test flight of the aircraft in the three engine configuration had been done just two months earlier. The aircraft got, as seen on the stamp, the registration D-2201. It was named Boelcke and, later re-registred D-ADOM. Germany issued in 1942 a special “Zulassungsmarken für Luftfeldpostbriefe”, a postmark which made it possible for soldiers at certain fronts to send private letters etc. home to their relatives by aircraft without cost. Every soldier got four stamps each month. The most common German transport aircraft, Ju 52/3m, is depicted at the postmark. This Bulgarian stamp depicts a Junkers 52 of the variant Ju52/3m Sova (mg6e). This model had three BMW 132T-2 engines. It was registred in Bulgaria in 1938 as LZ-UNB.

To commemorate the 300 years of the Finnish Post in 1938, four stamps were issued. One is this 2 Mark stamp, showing a Ju-52/3m loading post. In 1934, South African Airways ordered three Junkers Ju 52/3m aircraft, which were delivered in October 1934. As most, the air line operated 14 Ju-52/3ms
