Vallkärrastenen. Rune Stone from Vallkärra, Skåne. Now at the Rune Stone Hill at Lundagård, Lund.

This rune stone was first mentioned in the sources in 1627, and was then in its original location at the parish of Vallkärra in Skåne. In the 19th century the stone was moved from its place by a farmer. As he then was haunted by ghosts, he quickly brought the stone back to its original location. Scared as he was, he put down the stone too deep; resulting in the lower part of the inscription came under the ground level.

Some time later, the Valkärra stone was raised at the Rune Stone Hill outside the Archaeological department of the University of Lund not far from the Cathedral of Lund.

The runes read:

TUFA RISþI STIA þISI UFTIR KAMAL BUTA SIN UK ÃSUR A SUN HS.

This means:  "Tova reste dessa stenar efter Gammal, sin man/husbonde, och (efter) Assur, hans son. (In English: Tova raised this stones after [in memory of] Gammal, her husband, and [after / in memory of] Assur, his son)".

Note the words "this stones". The rune stone had been raised together with another rune stone or, more possible, several stones without inscriptions.
