Skivarpstenen. Rune Stone from Skivarp in the Municipality of Skurup. Now at the Rune Stone Hill at Lundagård, Lund.

This rune stone was found in the 19th century under the churchyard wall at the parish of Skivarp in Skåne. The stone was later blown into three pieces to be built into a chimney and a stairway. The rune expert Bruzelius took care of the parts in 1864 and repaired it. The stone was raised again in 1868 at the 200th anniversary of the University of Lund. It stands at the Rune stone hill outside the Archaeological department not far from the Cathedral of Lund.

The runes read:

TUMI RISþI STIA þASNI IFTIR . . . RA  FILAKA SIA

This means:  "Tumme reste denna sten efter . . . , sin bolagsman. (In English: Tumme raised this stone after [in memory of] . . ., his associate)".

The word "bolagsman / associate" means a person who bought or hired shares in the ship and got his part of the income.
