Rune Stone at Fänneslunda, Municipality of Ulricehamn, Sweden

This beautiful rune stone was described in 1893 as "raised in the garden of Fänneslunda, now so deep sunk into the ground so the whole lower part of the rune loop is hided." The stone is nowadays standing at the road between Fänneslunda old ruined church and the approach road to Fännerslunda säteri (manor). The place is situated 2 km south-west of  Fänneslunda-Grovare church in the municipality of Ulricehamn.

The runes read:

KAFLI RISþI STIN þESI ETR KIRA, þAHN HaRþA KUþAN, BRUþUR SUN BITU.

This means:

"Kafli reste denna sten efter Kire, en mycket god kämpe, Bitas broderson.
(In English: Kafli raised this stone after Kire, a very good  warrior, Bita's brother's son)"
.
