Mora Church A church of grey stone was built on the same place as the recent church in the 13th century, consisting of a nave and probably also a more narrow choir and vestry. Parts of the old walls are integrated in the new church. 1671 was
the church partly destroyed by fire. The fire took
the tower spire and all roofs, but the
vaults stood, which reduced
the interior damages. The reconstruction
work started
immediately
under powerful leadership and with support of the authorities. A new roof
was ready in October the same year. The construction
work continued gradually. In 1673
was a new tower spire raised.
