Nora Church is the parish church of Nora bergsförsamling in the municipality of Nora.

The church dominates the old mining community Nora with its massive 55 m high tower. The existing church is probably the third in the same place. The previous 16th century church was pulled down in 1878 after the current was built and inaugurated in 1880. Church building is a representative of the Romanesque architectural style, known as basilica.

The pulpit, decorated with five sculptures by Arvid Backlund, is from 1880. A new altar was inaugurated in connection with restoration of the church 1988-1989.  The retable is dated to 1684 and the altarpiece is signed Johan Herzog.

The christening font of limestone is from 1625 and stood once in the previous church.

Nora belongs to the Diocese of Västerås, the County of Örebro and the Province of Västmanland. Photo: John Henriksson, 20 of December, 2008.
