Four HKP 4 were in 2008 modified for participation in the Nordic Battlegroup's helicopter unit, Heli Unit 01 (HU01). They are used for tactical transport purposes and humanitarian missions. The modification included the fitting of ballistic protection and machine guns for self-protection. One of these helicopters, Air Force number 04070, was showed at the Göteborg Aero Show 2008 at Säve airport.
