Swedish fighter aircraft J 26 - North American P-51 Mustang
J 26 # 26034 somewhere in a wartime airfield. This aircraft was ex. USAAF 44-64059 and was later sold to Israel.

 

 
The first Mustang in the Swedish Air Force, # 26001. It carries the markings as White D (David) of Wing F 16. It original American designation was P-51B-5-NA and carried the USAAF serial 43-6365. It made an emergency landing at Rinkaby in the south of Sweden on the 13th of May 1944 after a combat mission near Stettin. Photo via Lars Lundin, Västervik.

 

 
Summer, sun and Mustangs. From the field of Wing F 16 at Uppsala. The J 26 closest to the camera is # 26049, "gul Tore (Yellow T)" of the 3rd Squadron. Ex. USAAF 44-63552, later sold to Nicaragua.
