Baptismal Font at Finnekumla Church, Municipality of Ulricehamn, Västergötland, Sweden

This baptismal funt had for many years been laying outdoors at the churchyard at Finnekumla. It is made of sandstone and dated to the 12th century. In the 19th century it was moved to the museum in Göteborg (Gothenburg). Today it is back in Finnekumla church and again used for its original purpose. It is standing to the right of the altar rails.

The runes are read:

ATREOS : -ÆE

This means:

"Andeas gjorde (?).
(In English: Andreas made [?])"
.
