Leonardo da Vinci also made a sketch of an ornithopter
with a standing operator. Also in this case he works with both arms and
legs to power the aircraft. And also in this case there is no chance that
a man's muscles could power such a heavy machine. Only in these modern times with the ultra-light materials available it has been possible to make short man-powered flights. |
