Book 9, Ch. 2.On Wagons with Schytes.

At the top of a hill a strong wooden pillar is driven into ground. Two wagons, fitted with several scythes, are connected to the pole with ropes. Both wagons are heavy loaded with stones. When the enemy approaches the hill, the men cut the ropes and the wagons run through the lines of the enemy with disaster as result.

Book 9, Ch. 4. On Flame-throwing Horses of Copper.

In the foreground we see a horse made of copper mounted on a wagon pushed by four men. A fire is burning inside the copper horse (which perhaps makes the enemy lose his nerves). In the background a rider has an image of metal in front of him on the horse. This image has also a fire inside. The rider has a pair of bellows in his hand to control the fire. He is riding towards the hostile soldiers in the upper left corner of the woodcut. 1300 x 600 px.
Book 9, Ch 6. On the Burning of Bridges.

A bridge is burned by the defenders to prevent the enemy to use it. The action was prepared in advance by building large rafts loaded with inflammable material. The rafts were anchored upstream the river, but have not been moved under the bridge and set ablaze. The first enemy is seen in the upper left corner of the picture. 1300 x 600 px.
Book 9, Ch 8. On the Guns of the Nordic Peoples.

To the left a Swedish town - the nationality can be recognized by the flag with the three crowns. Cannons are pointing out from the towers of the besieged town. To the right three cannons. This type of gun, in Swedish “kartog” was used at sieges. The wheels have “teeth” which made them more easy to move in difficult terrain. 1320 x 600 px.
Book 9, Ch 9. On Guns with Three Sides.

In the middle a large gun with 18 barrels resting on its carriage. Six cannon balls are shot from the barrels to the left on the same time. An artillery man is reloading the barrels to the right. A town and a castle complete the motif.

Book 9, Ch. 10. On Guns for Stones.

Two mortars (to the right) are shooting against a town. The mortars are protected to the left by baskets filled with sand or soil. The town is protected by a ring wall and a moat.
